#63 Today’s song is dedicated to Dessie O’Halloran, a great entertainer who lived in Innisbofin, a small island of only 180 inhabitants, off the coast of Connemara. He passed away last Saturday aged 79. I love the fact that Dessie continued to use his talents to make people happy till he died. It's an honour and a pleasure to have been Dessie's friend and musical comrade. Sleep well Dessie, I love you and I miss you and your laugh, your unique voice and music and your mighty sense of humour. I haven't seen this documentary yet, but I think it's going to be really great. I'm already emotional watching this short clip from it. We would have listened to Dessie growing up through the years on his own and with The Sharon Shannon Band.
