On William Morris's posthumous 190th birthday, Wightwick Manor & Gardens is unveiling a meticulously restored wallpaper scheme. Despite the iconic ‘Willow Bough’ wallpaper still being produced today, damage to the historic William Morris & Co design at Wightwick led to conservation experts reverting to traditional hand-printing processes. A decision was made to conserve as much of the original wallpaper as possible, while replacing damaged sections with newly hand-printed sheets. Master craftsma

Phase 2 of the ‘Big MEND’ at Wightwick Manor & Gardens is now complete, with the scaffold removed, following the careful conservation of the stunning Charles Eamer Kempe stained-glass windows in the Great Parlour.
