It’s now unlawful to have dangerous weapons like knuckledusters, zombie knives and death stars in your home. The definition of flick knives has also changed, with more of these bladed weapons being outlawed. We welcome these changes, which will enable us to remove dangerous weapons from communities and keep people safe from harm, and continue to work with partners to educate young people on the dangers of knife crime and support them into positive decisions away from violent crime. Today (July 14) sees a change to the Offensive Weapons Act 2019, which controls the sale of knives to ensure they don’t fall into the wrong hands. The new changes means that it is now an offence to possess dangerous items such as knuckledusters and zombie knives, even in your own home.
