The Maumee River is currently experiencing historic low water levels due to an extreme drought, with the water being described as a "trickle" and parts of the riverbed exposed. In late September and early October 2025, the flow was around 168 cubic feet per second, a significant drop from earlier high water flows of 70,000 cfs.
