Scientists have uncovered a breathtaking discovery that has captured global attention, revealing the Greenland shark as the longest-living vertebrate on Earth, with one estimated to be around 400 years old 🦈🌊 The remarkable finding comes from a study published in the journal Science, where researchers used radiocarbon dating on the eye lenses of 28 Greenland sharks. Because these sharks grow at an incredibly slow rate of just one centimetre per year, traditional ageing methods were impossible.
