The view from an abandoned jail in new Orleans. The CCC or community correctional center is part of Orleans parish prison system and experienced flooding during Hurricane Katrina. While briefly opened in the wake of the storm it would eventually close and become abandoned for years including present day. #abandoned #urbex #explore #explorepage #neworleans #nola | New Orleans Ghost Hunter

Another building New Orleans failed to clean out and secure. A massive prison with everything left behind, tons of court documents filled several rooms while the building was left wide opened for many years. It’s crazy how much stuff was in here, even an evidence room and inmates belongings. This prison was not closed after Katrina but rather was dormant for a couple years reopened then shut down again. So the storm can’t be an excuse for why it’s not cleaned out. #explorepage #explore #abandone

The visitation area of an abandoned New Orleans prison will full power. Inmates made many calls in this area over many years up until its closing in 2012 #nola #neworleans #Abandoned #urbex #jail #prison #explorepage | New Orleans Ghost Hunter

An abandoned New Orleans prison in such good shape I was expecting inmates and guards to walk through the doors while inside of here. Recently abandoned buildings are my favorite because of how much stuff is still inside to look at and film. And this prison was in pristine condition for having been abandoned and inactive for as long as it has! - #fyp #neworleans #nola #Louisiana #abandoned #urbex #abandonedplaces #prison #jail #explorepage #explore #urbexworld | New Orleans Ghost Hunter

Solitary confinement cells in an abandoned prison. This prison also had young inmates as well. Dark hallways with no noise, could not imagine being locked here and not going crazy. #explorepage #explore #dark #urbex #abandoned | New Orleans Ghost Hunter

Nothing terrifies me more than the thought of accidentally locking myself in an abandoned prison. This almost happened to me twice before. One time a door that was jammed almost fell closed another time I almost lost my grip holding a door open. Inside these jails there is no cellphone service, so you wouldn’t be able to call anyone. You would be locked in until either someone found you or you met your demise. Scary to think about. #fyp #abandonedplaces #abandoned #fear #neworleans #urbex #explo

Welcome to the basement of a New Orleans prison that at one time was considered the most violent in the country. I’ve explored this prison many times, even by myself, and have felt weird things in here. The basement is still full of water that has nowhere to go. I was only able to go in a bit before I realized I would need boots or waders to go through the water as it was deep in some areas. I might have to go back again to get some more footage, who knows what’s down those hallways… #fyp #aband

Exploring the abandoned Orleans Parish Prison in New Orleans which remains abandoned until this day. During hurricaine katrina inmates here were stuck in their cells and had to fight for survival. 517 would go “unaccounted for” by human rights organizations. #urbex #abandonedprison #neworleans #abandonedplaces
