Impulsively going off meds is very common in bipolar disorder. Many bipolar people love the dopamine hits from being manic and feel like they are losing their identity and personality by being on medication. Other people hate the side effects of a medication they have tried or feel like they have gotten better that they no longer need medication. When I’ve gone off my meds, it has been impulsive and done without discussing it with my psychiatrist. I have just stopped taking them and not shown up
