Massachusetts basketball (9-11, 4-3 A-10) notched a 74-61 victory over George Washington (13-6, 2-6) on Wednesday night at the Mullins Center. The performance marks the third straight Atlantic 10 victory for the Minutemen, who have now claimed four of their last five.

With 16:05 left in the second half, Castro brought the Revolutionaries to within one point of the Minutemen with an and-one on a putback layup. This topped off a 6-0 George Washington run as they took advantage of a slow UMass start to the half.

For the early portion of the first half, anxious murmurs spread through the Mullins Center as the UMass men’s basketball team racked up as many turnovers (6) as points nearly 10 minutes into the game.
