Illinois Teamsters picketing outside of Republic Services say to expect delays in trash pickup
Teamsters from local 179 representing Republic Services drivers in Ottawa, Illinois, said there may be delays down the line for trash pickup in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
Republic Services trash and recycling pickup was suspended in Toledo and Maumee Tuesday, and resumed Wednesday.
After five weeks on strike and more than two weeks since the last negotiation session, union officials said members voted overwhelmingly to continue the strike.
Teamsters employed by Republic Services have been on strike for a month. There does not appear to be an end in sight.
