Richard Gerald Jordan, the state's oldest death row inmate at 79, was executed by lethal injection on Wednesday, June 25, and pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m. local time.

Now, Jordan’s attorneys have filed an appeal to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. They’ve also filed a stay application to the U.S. Supreme Court. Want more WLBT news in your inbox?
