One day after returning from a lengthy absence, Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya is headed right back to the injured list after spraining his left ankle while stepping on first base Wednesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Chicago Cubs have placed catcher Miguel Amaya on the 10-day injured list just days after activating him from it for a different injury that sidelined him for months.

The injury occurred in the top of the eighth inning after Amaya hit a chopper to shortstop and was attempting to beat out the throw at first at Rogers Centre on Wednesday night.
