AUSTIN, Texas — The name "Hector Polanco" is one that lives on in infamy for many who lived in Austin in the 1990s. The then-Austin Police Department (APD) sergeant was known for his interrogation tactics and ability to get confessions. But over the years, evidence has come to light that some of those confessions were false or coerced.
