The PFL will institute several changes in 2025, including a complete overhaul of its signature "season" format, as well discontinuing the promotion of separate events under the Bellator MMA banner, the company it acquired in 2023.

PFL MMA has released an official statement addressing the future branding of Bellator. PFL acquired the Bellator brand and its roster of fighters in November 2023.

Patricio 'Pitbull' Freire says he has been granted an "unconditional release" from the PFL after publicly criticising the MMA promotion. Pitbull, 37, hit out at the PFL on Tuesday on social media after it was confirmed the PFL would be ending the Bellator brand.

PFL World Tournament will feature single-elimination fights across eight weight classes, including middleweight and bantamweight.

PFL revealed it will distribute more than $20 million dollars to the fighters, including $500,000 to tournament winners.
