A series of slides and avalanches occurred at Palisades Tahoe as a winter storm brought heavy snow to the area.

A series of avalanches occurred at Palisades Tahoe on Thursday as a powerful storm dumped up to two feet of snow in the Sierra.

After a storm brought more than 2 feet of new snow to Palisades Tahoe, a ski patroller was injured Thursday morning doing avalanche control work.

A member of the Palisades Tahoe ski resort was injured while on their way to perform avalanche mitigation work. The resort said the person sustained a leg injury around 8 a.m. and was taken for “further medical care.
