The Mets' playoff hopes took a major hit when the team lost to the Marlins and the Reds beat the Brewers Friday.
New York brought the veteran out of the bullpen on Wednesday and Sunday after using him as a starter for his first 30 appearances of the season. However, manager Carlos Mendoza announced another change before Friday’s game against the Miami Marlins, via SNY. “Clay Holmes is going to start tomorrow,” he said.
Mets' third baseman Brett Baty left Friday night's game with right side soreness, which could be a big loss as New York tries to reach the postseason.
