Wheel of Fortune fans got a glimpse of their favorite former host, Pat Sajak, behind the scenes of the game show. In a new video, current host Ryan Seacrest said that in celebration of the show’s 50th anniversary,

Wheel of Fortune is currently airing its 42nd season, which kicked off in September 2024 and will run until June of this year. This marks Seacrest's first full season as the show's host, after taking over the job from Pat Sajak, who had been with Wheel since 1981 and retired at age 77 in June 2024.

While Sajak has said his goodbyes to the syndicated show, he remains as host for one more season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. The new season of the Celeb spinoff was scheduled to premiere on October 14, 2024; however, just days before the premiere, ABC announced it was being pushed back to early 2025.
