Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is asking the state's highest court to vacate the seats of more than a dozen Texas House Democrats that left the state to break quorum in an attempt to prevent a vote on redrawn congressional maps.

On Friday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against Democratic state lawmakers in the Supreme Court of Texas.

The attorney general is calling on the “full faith and credit” clause of the Constitution, which says states should typically honor each other’s judicial proceedings.
