Trafford initially departed the Etihad in a deal worth up to $25 million, with Burnley paying an initial $20 million, a club-record fee at the time. His return now sets a new British transfer record for a goalkeeper, with City paying an initial $36 million, potentially rising to $41 million with add-ons.
