From the flooded basements on the city’s southwest side to a flooded riverwalk in Naperville, thousands across Chicago and suburbs were affected by storms Monday night into early Tuesday morning.

Severe thunderstorms put on a light show over the skies of Chicago Monday night, while drowning parts of the city in flash flooding below.

Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc on local roads in northwest Indiana on Monday night, with some even closing down to traffic because of standing water.

Thunderstorms brought rain showers, high winds and hail to parts of Chicago and the western and southern suburbs Saturday night. Sunday's high will be 82, with a 20% chance of showers. Rain delayed the start of the Savannah Bananas game by an hour and 45 minutes.

It’s been no rest for the weary in the Windy City this summer, which has faced multiple damaging flooding events just since the start of July.

Damaging storms brought heavy rain that flooded roadways overnight, especially on the city's Southwest Side that saw flooding last month. Thousands of ComEd customers were without power for hours in the Chicago area.

Nearly 1.9 inches of rain fell at O'Hare, with 3 to 4 inches reported in parts of southern Cook County into Lake County, Indiana, said the National Weather Service.
