Billy Long was a ridiculous character to put in the role of IRS commissioner, but despite his lack of qualifications, he appears to have put up a fight when it came to defending taxpayers' private data from immigration enforcement officials.

President Donald Trump is removing the former member of Congress from his post less than two months after his swearing in. Long says he is being named ambassador to Iceland.

Billy Long ended his brief tenure as IRS commissioner Friday, posting on X that President Donald Trump will nominate him to be ambassador to Iceland.
