Pro-Palestine protesters have planned to walk the streets of Basle “silently” to demonstrate against Israel’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Yuval Raphael, 24, is set to represent her home nation with her song New Day Will Rise at this year's contest, after surviving the horrific October 7 attacks just 18 months ago.

The first semi-final in Basel, Switzerland, also saw Estonia, Poland and Iceland go through to Saturday’s final.
