Chicago Sky star Angel Reese delivered her best performance of the season Sunday, posting her first career triple-double in a 78-66 win over the Connecticut Sun

The Chicago Sky have stumbled out of the gate this WNBA season, residing into the basement of the Eastern Conference with a 3-7 record -- all despite some historic accomplishments from star Angel Reese.

Connecticut Sun star Tina Charles and Chicago Sky phenom Angel Reese had a heated moment in Sunday’s game, but both hold a deep mutual respect for the other.

Charles and Reese continued their dialogue throughout Sunday’s game in Connecticut. And when play heated up in the third quarter, the two got in each other’s faces. It started with Sun veteran Bria Hartley pulling Reese’s braid on a rebound. Reese didn’t like it and shoved off an intervening Sun player. Charles didn’t like that either.

Fueled by Angel Reese’s 11 assists — more than double her previous career high — the Chicago Sky had five players in double-figure scoring. Reese also had 11 points and 13 rebounds.

The WNBA will return to CBS on Sunday when the Connecticut Sun host Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. This has been a difficult start to the season for both clubs, who will hope to return to winning ways this weekend.

Reese broke the WNBA single-season rebounding record held by Sylvia Fowles as part of a 17-point, 19-rebound effort in a 79-74 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on September 1. That record was broken by Las Vegas’ A’ja Wilson later in the month after Reese missed her final six games due to a wrist injury.
