FIFA has announced the World Cup final will kick off at 3 p.m. EDT on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Sunday will be chilly and mostly cloudy as a weak cold front approaches, which may produce a few spotty evening snow showers.
Heat has long been an issue at World Cups. The Qatar tournament in 2022 was played later in the year because of it. The last time the U.S. hosted a World Cup in 1994, games were mostly during the day.
