The measles outbreak in western Texas has hit 481 cases as 59 newly identified infections were confirmed over the last three days, according to new data published Friday.

Measles cases related to the outbreak have been reported in 19 Texas counties since late January, with two-thirds located in Gaines County at 315, followed by Terry County with 43 cases, Lubbock County with 33 cases, Dawson County with 20, and Yoakum County with 17.

The Texas health department on Friday reported 59 new measles cases in three days, bringing the total to 481 in the state, while New Mexico added six more infections, as the disease spreads across the United States.
