Flagstaff and northern Arizona received 1-3 inches of snow on Monday, but more is coming. Here's how much fell and how much to expect from the storm.

Over the past couple of months, record fall and winter heat and a lack of precipitation have led to Flagstaff's driest start to winter on record.

Record amounts of snowfall have fallen in areas of the United States this winter season so far. But not where you may think. Flagstaff is way behind on average snowfall this season. The normal snow-to-date for Flagstaff by this time in the season is 45.

A low-pressure system moving across the state through Wednesday was expected to bring scattered showers to the Valley and snow in the north. Rainfall hit the north and northwest edges of the Valley before noon on Monday, but no measurable showers hit Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, where the office records weather, Worley said.
