GST Council approved e-invoicing system for B2B invoices, with new rules and regulations, mandatory for all taxpayers from April 1.

The e-invoicing scheme that covers all sales other than at the retail level, is a reporting requirement of transactions to designated portals meant to improve compliance.

E-invoicing was introduced on 1 October 2020 for businesses with sales more than ₹50 crore and the threshold was gradually lowered to ₹10 crore as of now.
