A German national suspect on a legal visa allegedly killed a United States Border Agent during a traffic stop in Vermont near the Northern border on Monday.

One suspect is dead and another is in custody after a U.S. Border Patrol agent was fatally shot in the line of duty in northern Vermont on Monday afternoon, federal authorities confirmed.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent was fatally shot Monday in northern Vermont south of the Canadian border, authorities said.
