The United States and the European Union announced a trade framework Sunday after a meeting between President Donald Trump and European Commission
U.S. President Donald Trump, dogged by questions about his ties to disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, arrived in Scotland on Friday for some golf and bilateral talks that could yield a trade deal with the European Union.
Donald Trump visited his golf course in South Ayrshire, Scotland. Security was tight, including an armored golf cart. Protests occurred in Edinburgh and other UK cities during the visit. Demonstrators voiced opposition to Trump's politics.
Trump said the U.S. will impose 15 percent tariffs on imports from the 27-nation European Union, although the White House has yet to release specifics.
The Scots are generally not fans of Mr. Trump, and protests are already planned. A group called “Stop Trump Scotland” said it is organizing a “festival of resistance” against Mr. Trump during the trip and has called on John Swinney, the first minister of Scotland, to decline to meet with him.
