Shi Yongxin of Shaolin Monastery in Henan, China, was stripped of his ordination over alleged misconduct involving money and sexual relationships with women.

The abbot of China's famed 1,500-year-old Shaolin Temple is under criminal investigation for alleged embezzlement, "improper relationships" with women and fathering illegitimate children, religious authorities said.

Shi Yongxin, who has been dubbed the "CEO monk" after turning the temple into a sprawling business, is now accused of violating "Buddhist precepts."
