Severe storms could unfold Monday morning and afternoon, though forecasters aren’t sure yet if the models are right.
For today, hot and humid with a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. High temps in the low to mid 90s, the feels-like temps around 105 degrees.
Patchy fog is impacting visibility in our southernmost counties to less than 1 mile, but this should improve by 9:00 a.m. Mostly sunny skies and southerly winds ushering in humid air mean that we're once again looking at some intense heat this afternoon.
Scattered storms raise the risk for localized flooding in North Carolina through Monday.
Out of the gate this week, heavy rain and the threat for flash flooding has dominated the weather headlines in the tri-state area. The flood threat diminishes overnight, but the heat and humidity will not let up.
