In this month’s wind-driven wildfires in Southern California, evacuation alerts for some neighborhoods came long after homes were aflame.

The Palisades Fire has been the largest in terms of burned areas. The iconic Malibu restaurant Moonshadows was completely destroyed, as was the Palisades Branch Library. The Palisades Charter High School suffered extensive damage. Here’s an analysis of the building damage with what we know now:

Jan. 29 A new wildfire was reported today at 5:09 a.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. At this time, there is no information on the containment of the fire and the cause of it has yet to be determined.
