The swap for four soldiers stationed on the border of the Gaza Strip at Nahal Oz follows 15 months of captivity and a campaign by their families.

Video from Gaza City shows four Israeli hostages being handed over by Hamas militants and transferred into waiting Red Cross vehicles. Soldiers Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy - all three aged 20 - and Liri Albag, 19 were taken by Hamas from a military base at the Israel-Gaza border.

The four soldiers were all stationed at an observation post on the edge of Gaza and abducted by Hamas fighters who overran their base during the attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
