Governor Gavin Newsom was scheduled to be joined by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and other elected officials to announce California’s actions in response to redistricting efforts being made by Republican-led states.

Texas House Democrats departed their state in an attempt to deny Republicans the quorum needed to pass new congressional maps.

The Texas Democratic legislators breaking quorum are expected to be welcomed in California on Friday.
