The Corporation for Public Broadcasting will start shutting down its operations after Congress and the Trump administration decided to cut $1.

PBS Charlotte is losing $1.2 million following federal funding cuts and will “continue to operate in the near term,” as it assesses the long-term impacts, a spokesperson told The Charlotte Observer.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has long helped pay for PBS, NPR and 1,500 local radio and television stations and programs like “Sesame Street."
