Judge Dale Ho has decided to adjourn the trial of New York City Mayor Eric Adams on corruption charges until further notice after the Justice Department said it would drop its case.

Ho wrote that he was appointing Clement, who was a solicitor general under President George W. Bush, because Adams and the Justice Department are aligned in their positions and the motion to dismiss hadn't undergone "adversarial testing.
