A new atmospheric river will bring a new rainstorm to the Los Angeles area in the middle of the week, forecasters say.

An atmospheric river has made its way to Southern California, bringing rain to the region. With rain soaking Los Angeles County on Wednesday, areas badly hit by the Jan. 2025 wildfires must brace for possible flooding and mudslides.

The first storm from the tail end of an atmospheric river brought light to moderate rain throughout the Los Angeles area.

Forecasters believe there's little risk that the rains expected next week will trigger debris flows and mudslides in Southern California's recent burn areas.
