USC men’s and women’s hoops are rekindling a popular promotion for free concessions at ballgames during the holidays.

The freshman wing did a little bit of everything in just the second game of her college career last month against Bowling Green. South Carolina was without guard Maddy McDaniel, which led to more minutes for McDowell (23 to be exact). McDowell scored 11 points and had three rebounds, two steals and an assist.

Sophomore forward Joyce Edwards totaled 12 points during the game, stepping up during the first quarter, where she went 4-5 for field goals, scoring eight points. In part, Edwards capitalized on a few steals, easily scoring layups in the process.

Dawn Staley and the No. 3 Gamecocks beat NC Central 106-42 at home in Colonial Life Arena. South Carolina is now 9-1 on the year. USC played lights out defense in the game and forced NC Central to turn the ball over 36 times . The Gamecocks needed three more turnovers to crack the top five in the program’s all-time record book.
