The discovery of dead birds on the UMass Amherst campus and at a lake in Taunton further fuels concerns about bird flu.

Two Canada geese found on the campus of UMass Amherst have tested positive for bird flu. According to the University, the geese tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), (H5N1) which is the first known positive test on campus.

The first two cases of bird flu on the University of Massachusetts campus were discovered over the weekend when two deceased Canadian geese tested positive for disease, the university announced.
