Spotify reported solid Q2 2023 gains in subscribers and total users but came up short of its revenue target and posted a net loss for the period.

In Q2 2025, Spotify added millions of subscribers, reaching 696 million active users. While revenue grew by 10% to €4.2 billion, the company reported a net loss of €86 million, marking a decline from last year's profit.

Higher expenses related to employees, professional services, marketing, and so-called social charges pushed Spotify to a $100 million loss in Q2 2025.
