Thousands peacefully gathered at Civic Center and Waterfront Park, joining "No Kings" events across the region and the U.S.

ABC 10News sat down with Sheriff Kelly Martinez to get her take on how things went from a law enforcement perspective and the president's social media posts on doubling down on deportation.

On Saturday, June 14, thousands of Americans hit the streets for “No Kings” protests, including in San Diego County.

“Our country is a republic. Our country has no kings and judging from the policies and the actions coming out of the White House and from the President, that does not actually tell us that he's acting as a king, and people are just tired of it, and they wanted to speak out,” No Kings Carlsbad Protest Organizer, Kathy Minton said.

ABC 10News reporter Jane Kim spoke to people who reflected back on the day that brought in historic crowds and what it meant to them.
