WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department is escalating efforts to scrutinize perceived adversaries of President Donald Trump with investigations into New York Attorney General Letitia James and U.S. Sen. Adam Schiff.

The Justice Department subpoenaed New York AG James as it probes whether she violated Trump's civil rights, AP sources said.

James was hit with subpoenas as part of a grand jury probe by the Albany US Attorney's Office into her office's $454 million civil fraud case against President Trump.
