Inter Miami defender Jordi Alba, one of several former Barcelona stars to follow Lionel Messi to MLS, has announced that he will retire at the end of the 2025 season.

Alba joined Inter Miami in 2023, reuniting with Messi and Busquets to rekindle one of the most successful partnerships of the 2010s.

Sergio Busquets, who had recently announced his own retirement, is one of Alba’s closest friends on and off the pitch and he wrote, “Congratulations Jordi Alba on your tremendous career.
