Acura has officially announced the return of the RSX nameplate, marking a new era for the brand as it unveils its first electric vehicle ( EV) built on Honda ’s EV platform. Inspired by the Acura Performance EV Concept, the all-electric Acura RSX presents itself as a sleek, coupe-like silhouette with modern tech.

The Acura will be the first EV built at the new Honda EV Hub in Ohio. The EV Hub is being created during retooling of the Marysville Auto Plant, the East Liberty Auto Plant and the Anna Engine Plant, meaning Honda and Acura will be able to build EVs, hybrids and ICE cars in Ohio.

Acura has announced that its next-generation electric vehicle (EV) will revive the RSX nameplate. The all-electric RSX will be based on the Acura Performance EV Concept and represents the first model to utilize Honda's new EV platform and the proprietary ASIMO OS operating system,

The new Acura RSX will also be the first EV produced at Honda’s new “EV Hub” in Ohio. The facilities at the Marysville Auto Plant, the East Liberty Auto Plant, and the Anna Engine Plant are undergoing a $700 million makeover and retooling. The Anna Engine Plant will be where the megacasting for Honda’s new Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) is made.

The premium performance car will include the ASIMO operating system and Honda's in-house battery platform. It will also be the first vehicle to come off the line at its Ohio EV plant.

Acura is bringing back another classic model … name. On the heels of the return of the Integra and ZDX names to the brand’s lineup, Honda-owned Acura has announced that its first homegrown electric vehicle will be called the RSX.
