The film starred Parminder Nagra as Jess and Keira Knightley as Jules, two women with a passion for soccer who end up on a team and strike up a friendship. The film sees Jules fall for a coach while Jess sneaks around playing the game against her parents' wishes.

"Bend It Like Beckham" is getting a sequel over 20 years later, and the director is hopeful Keira Knightley and Parminder Nagra will return.

None of the film's original cast have committed as of this writing, but director Gurinder Chadha is "pretty certain that everyone’s going to want to come back."
