The Nationals made their first move less than a week before the Trade Deadline by acquiring right-hander Clayton Beeter and outfielder Browm Martinez from the Yankees in exchange for veteran utility infielder Amed Rosario on Saturday night.

Beeter, originally acquired from the Dodgers for Joey Gallo, appeared in two big league games for the Yankees this season. He allowed six earned runs over 3.2 innings. The 26-year-old righty, who debuted with the Yankees last year, had a 3.10 ERA over 18 games at Triple-A.

The Yankees had tried to acquire Amed Rosario multiple times over the past few years. Now that they finally got him, from the Nationals in a Saturday night trade for reliever Clayton Beeter and 18-year-old outfielder Browm Martinez, Rosario becomes the utilityman the Yankees have been missing since Oswaldo Cabrera broke his ankle in May.
