What was feared the worst by the Boston Celtics has come true, as superstar Jayson Tatum will officially miss the remainder of the second round playoff series against the New York Knicks (and any remaining series if they advance) with a ruptured achilles tendon.
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum suffered a lower right leg injury in Game 4 against the New York Knicks. Tatum was lunging for a loose ball with about three minutes left in the fourth quarter when his leg gave out, causing him to crumble to the floor in pain.
There is not word as of yet exactly what the injury is, but based on the fact that it was non-contact, and Tatum was wheeled to the locker room holding the back of his ankle, there is a belief that it is something to do with his Achilles tendon. After the game, notable Celtics fan Bill Simmons reacted on his live podcast.
The defending NBA champion Boston Celtics are on the brink of elimination after losing Game 4 to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
