The mood at the Cleveland Browns’ offseason practice complex shifted dramatically on Tuesday afternoon when cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. planted his left foot at the end of a 7-on-7 drill, collapsed to the turf and was unable to bear weight as teammates and trainers rushed to his side.

Day 7 of the Cleveland Browns Training Camp wrapped up. It was a productive day, as the team was back in pads Wednesday morning after being in shells yesterday. A productive day as I was able to attend the session and watch practice at the CrossCountry Mortgage Campus in Berea.

A key development: The Browns went live tackling in the final team period — a major shift from previous camps. This was the first full-speed live tackling session in at least four years. It’s a critical step in acclimating players to real-game contact tempo and builds the physical resilience needed early in the season.
