Formula 1 design guru Adrian Newey has revealed he will be playing catch up at Aston Martin thanks to the nature of his Red Bull gardening leave. Newey announced his Red Bull departure last Spring and his move to Aston Martin was revealed in September.

Former McLaren F1 mechanic Marc Priestley has warned Aston Martin that signing Adrian Newey won’t necessarily resolve their current lack of form. In September 2024, Aston Martin announced Newey as their Managing Technical Partner. Newey will lead Aston Martin’s design team, officially assuming the role later this year.
