Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Boston's Copley Square on Saturday for the Pride parade while "No Kings" protesters lined the streets to peacefully demonstrate.

Protests are being organized in Tennessee and across the nation as President Donald Trump plans to celebrate his birthday with a speech after the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary parade on June 14.

The demonstrations are organized by Indivisible, a nonprofit coalition of progressive political action groups.

Roberto Reveles, a prominent Latino civil rights leader, spoke to the crowd about the state’s past with racism and immigration enforcement. His organization, Somos America, led one of the largest civil rights marches in the state’s history and won a lawsuit against then-Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for racial profiling.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered the deployment of nearly 700 California Highway Patrol officers statewide in anticipation of large-scale protests expected this weekend.

A 21-year-old man allegedly accelerated his SUV into a crowd of people at a "No Kings Day" rally in Virginia, hitting at least one person, according to Culpeper police.
