The Greater Washington Urban League is a major interracial, nonpartisan, nonprofit, social services and civil rights organization with headquarters in the District of Columbia and offices in Prince George's County, MD. The League is a 501(c)3 non-profit community service organization staffed by 65 individuals from various disciplines who provide direct services to and advocate for more than 65,000 constituents annually. The League manages and administers a variety of programs in the areas of housing, financial empowerment, entrepreneurship/small business, emergency assistance, youth development and scholarship, workforce development and advocacy. The League is governed by a 25-member Board of Directors and an advisory board that provides expertise and guidance to support our programs. The Thursday Network is The League’s young professional auxiliary and provides linkage to the next generation of leaders. The Guild auxiliary drives volunteer service and keeps GWUL connected to the community.
